Introduction

The Group of Applied Instrumental Analysis is composed by Professors, Graduated  and Under-graduate students. This group is directed by Professors Joaquim A. Nóbrega (Department of Chemistry - Associate III Professor), Ana Rita A. Nogueira (Embrapa Pecuária Sudeste Researcher) and Edenir Rodrigues Pereira Filho (Department of Chemistry - Adjunct Professor). Development and avaliation of procedures for organic and inorganic samples decomposition using microwave ovens with closed and open recipients for further quantification of inorganic species through spectroanalytical techniques such as Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS), Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES), Flame and Graphite Furnace Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (FAAS and GFAAS) is the main goal of this Group. Flow procedures development (SIA and FIA) using spectrophotometric, potentiometric and conductimetry detectors is also investigated.
